Underwater inspection at Nant de Drance
Commissioned to examine the underwater installations in Lake Emosson, HYDRO transported the control centre to the crest of the dam before conducting an on-board inspection from a boat.
An ultra-high-performance robot
Thanks to meticulous preparation and excellent coordination between our teams and our partners, HYDRO recently conducted successful underwater inspections of the water intakes of Lakes Vieux Emosson and Emosson, at the heart of the Nant de Drance facility. Calling on our ROV SAAB Falcon (remotely operated underwater vehicle), an ultra-high-performance device designed for visual underwater inspection, this mission perfectly illustrates our capacity to intervene in strategic infrastructures, even in the most demanding of environments.
Preparation and agility to overcome the constraints
In light of the access and safety constraints, two separate logistical approaches were necessary: transport of the control centre to the top of the Vieux Emosson dam and an on-board inspection of the Emosson dam from a boat. This dual approach demonstrates HYDRO’s ability to adapt its resources in an agile manner, quickly deploying tailor-made solutions through upstream preparation closely coordinated with the operator.
